Being childish

Standing on my roof & feeling the cold air dismantling my hairs…- feeling alive..!!!
It’s too cold outside & perhaps, most of us would be in bed wrapped in blankets & quilts. That’s the perfect time to do so. There is nothing better about winter than its freezing nights!
Stop whatever you are doing just for a few minutes & close your eyes. Try remembering the way things used to be earlier in life during such winter time when you were a kid. Remember all the fun you used to have even sitting at home for the whole day. While I thought about all this, there was a constant smile on my face. And, am sure your lips will also make a curve upwards when you’ll do the same. Yeah, that carefree… innocent… genuine smile!

Childhood was the time when we were truly alive in the truest sense. No stress- no worries…. Just enjoyment & fun. When the happiest moment used to be getting a chocolate or toffee from someone elder. Those laugh… those tears… those ‘katta-abba’ scenes! All such memories are just priceless.

Things have changed now. Take a look at the present scenario of your life & compare it with some kids around you. They laugh for about whole day while we are stressed most of the times. Being a kid, we all used to gather in streets & just play. It was the time when homework was finished early just to get a little more time to play with friends. Now, the games have changed from ‘Pakdam-Pakdai’ to candy crush, temple run, subway surfer, rope escape etc. Life was seriously awesome at that time even though none of us had even heard about smart-phones…, now, everyone has got it but still, life is not that great.  The time of those street-games has gone & perhaps, our ever-smiling attitude too. Today, we all are using WhatsApp, BBM etc. in such a way that when we get outside our friend’s place… instead of ringing the door-bell, we prefer to text. Life has really changed! Or perhaps, our way of living has changed!
We teach children how to do things, but actually we need to learn from them how to live. The way they live is the best. Carefree life… no hatred… no grudges… just affection. When we were a kid, festivals didn’t just mean holidays… they were actually holidays. The spirit of celebration was present. But now, if some of the festivals fall on SUNDAY, we don’t even get to notice it was a festival too. Festivals are now just holidays for most of us. Recently, Makkar Sakranti was there & I don’t think many of us even knew about it. The spark has ended in us-The spark of living life. What we are doing is just killing the time & getting the job done.
Life is about seizing the moment. We are either living in past or in future, but not in present certainly. We are working hard endlessly for tomorrow but what we are forgetting is:

“Today is that tomorrow… we worked for yesterday!”

We are not living life… we are just following the same routine every damn day! The element of having fun is missing. Something goes wrong & our head gets ready to blast. Stress & worry is the only thing we have in our life now. Worrying is just a wastage of time.

“Worrying doesn’t solve your problems or make your future better. It just sucks your blood today & ruins your present too.”

Break this bullshit routine. Stop existing & start living the way you used to. We are so busy in thinking about future that we are forgetting it’s not even sure to come.

You never know whether you’ll even wake up tomorrow morning or not! Today might be your last day here.
Just think what you would have wanted to do if this was your last day here. Then do it as early as possible. Present time is the only time you have the power to act. Make your today worth it. Life is not about counting how many breaths you took…. It’s about counting how many times your breath was taken away.
Break all the inhibitions. Celebrate each moment of your life. Embrace it. Keep the child in you alive.

Don’t make your life a mess…! Cherish all the things you enjoy. Don’t just follow the routine every day, do something that really makes the day complete... & puts a smile on your face.

“Life is just a one-time offer… make the maximum of it!”

The following lines express the best of what I feel right now:

“O waqt bada achha c…
Jado m nikka bachcha c…
Goliya-toffee’ya khaanda c…
Har velle gun-gunaanda c..

Odo sasta bada petrol c..
Par cycle mere kol c..
Naa kudiya da koi zikkar c..
Bas padhai di e fikarr c..
Na Facebook te status likhda c..
MS Word te paint sikhda c..
Jaddo yaar saare naal c..
Odo waqt ne badly chaal c..
School Chhadd aaye College ch..
q-ki zindgi da swaal c..
hunn group ch rehna penda h..
‘Sorry’... ‘Thank-you’ kehna penda h..
Sab puchde ne m kalla-kalla q rehna aa?
M jawaab ni de pana aa..
Fer athru poojh k kehnaa aa.. “Tusi chalo.. m aana aa..”
Sab puchde ne wajah dil- sakht di…
M kehya.. yaad aa gyi us waqt di..
Jo waqt bda achha c..
Jado m nikka bachcha c…”

You were born without a name… but try living in such a way that everyone remembers your name as the yardstick for living life!
