Grow up!?!
Each one of
us has different surroundings but there is one common dialogue we all must have
heard at some point of time by someone- “Grow
up… Start taking things seriously!”
They say
behave maturely but no one tells how to do that! Perhaps, no one has a clear
cut answer.
Many of us
feel that maturity comes with age. And, if you are also one of them, then you
too are completely wrong. Age has no direct connections with maturity.
“Maturity is not a figure… so, age
can’t guarantee it”
Now, the
question may arise in your mind- What maturity is?
Someone said-
“maturity is just a level above common-sense! Develop your common sense &
you’ll get to a better maturity level!”
Very true-
but the problem is what we call as common-sense is actually too rare to find. People
who have this so called common sense feels it is not a gift… it’s a punishment
because they have to deal with all those block heads who don’t have it!
Maturity is
just a point of view. Looking at things from a 360 degree angle with keeping
all possible factors in mind can surely get you labeled as Matured! It’s not about
being serious; it’s about being sincere- taking point of all possible driving
forces into play &then acting.
Here is a
short story:
A kid
entered a barber’s shop. The barer was busy attending his customer. As soon as
he saw that boy, he smiled & whispered to his customer- “This is the
dumbest kid I know… wait, I’ll show it.” He took out a 5-rupees note & a
50- rupees note. And, asked the kid to
take any one. The boy took 5- rupee note & left. The barber laughed &
said- “see I told you. I’ve been doing this from last 2 years, he always choses
5 rupees. This kid never learns!” when that customer left from the barber shop,
he saw that kid outside an ice-cream shop enjoying his ice-cream. He walked to
him & asked- Why didn’t you choose 50-rupees? The boy licked his ice-cream,
smiled & said- “The day I chose 50-rupees, this game will be over!”

A
perfect example of matured behavior.
Why we are
told to act smartly? Of course, because it is beneficial for us. But, if you
can be benefitted without showing your intelligence, what’s the issue?
Maturity is a skill… that skill which
lets us know which skill needs to be shown to others & at what time!
Maturity is when someone hurts you
& instead of hurting them back, you try to understand the situation.
Maturity is the ability to reap
without apology & not complain when things go wrong!
